Hello all.
I am looking at buying a 79 oday 23 that has a custom trailer supposedly for ramp launching. it has a 17 inch fin keel with a 3 foot draft. From what I have been told it depends on the ramp steepness and lenth. What I am wondering is if most munical ramps are likely to work or if I am going to be looking all over the state of florida to find one that will work.

What might make things easier is a tongue extension, to get you futher out the ramp. Four wheel or front wheel drive would let you get further down the ramp as well.

The ramps will depend in large part on the surrounding depth of the water. The deeper the water, the steeper the ramp is likely to be.

I know folks who use a small wheel on the trailer tongue and a tow strap (or 2-3) to get their fin-keeled boats launched. Moore24's have 4'6" draft and are trailer racers with an active racing community on the West Coast. The O'Day would be easier to launch than theirs, but much heavier to tow. Moore24's weigh 2,050#.
