Another suggestion; try to make it a continuous loop, with the tails guided by bullet blocks and limited slack. This really cuts down on tangles.
All kidding aside, I had a 2:1 purchase on my 27'er and went to 3:1. It was nice. If you have better purchase on the traveler you will play the traveler instead of the main sheet in gusty conditions, which is generally more efficient and easier. Less line to yard back in.I have a 160 sq foot main on a 27 foot sailboat (albin vega).
I am tending towards a simple and small profile 2:1 system for the traveler.
But will I regret not going to 3:1?
Any reasons for me to not use 2:1?
