I am just now provisioning for our first long adventure. There is more that I don't know than I do. However, I am an experience cook and I can say that a V-slicer ( which I only discovered about one year ago) is a great tool. It slices and dices everything and it is compact. I currently have two, one for the house and one for the lake and now I will be purchasing the third for our boat. About my only contributions that I can make are my endorsement for the V-slicer and Debbie's green bags. For the rest I am depending on the experienced sailors.
