Short of the motivation to save $100, I have no way to explain why they never announced the winner, nor did anyone above post to say they were told they won. At best, a totally disorganized, oblique campaign. At worst, members were scammed.

Makes no sense.

Well the contest only ended 8 days ago, if you don't count weekends. We don't know how long they've given the winner to get back to them. I'm not ready to toss in the towel just yet. It took 4 months for my town to do a change of address on my FID lol

I'm guessing the mother ship is simply run on a shoestring. Perhaps just not managed well. While owned by the Toronto newspaper, this thing could practically be run from someone's kitchen, if the servers are on the cloud. I'll guess, during Covid, that's not far from true. Winners could easily reply on weekends and be announced on Monday latest, so I think that's a generous perspective. On the other hand, glancing through the submission, there were quite a few posts to this thread, from members with fewer than 10 posts total. That's interesting.

It's been two weeks since choosing the winner and 10 days, since they claimed they would choose a backup winner.

No blood drawn that I can tell, but a bunch of enthusiasm stirred up and then squandered.

This is true. I can and do some work from home at all hours of the day. Who knows, the person in charge of this may be on a month long european vacation ;-)

I've been biting my tounge, but since the admin won't announce.....

No one got stiffed. I did finally receive the gift card as promised.

I will be using the $$ to buy a hotknife and some other accessories for my pending bimini and dodger project.
