Whats your "go-to song"

That one song that will always give you that little pick-me up. Something that, no matter what is going on in your life. You listen to it, and all is right with the world. post a link to the song....

I will preface say that I'm a huge MFing parrot heaf and I can copletle lose myself listening to JB, and if all music in the world had to go away but one and I had to listen to his music for the rest of my life and no others, it would be JB

But Jimmy Buffett covered "Southern Cross" For about 4 minutes I am completely lost. Seriously... zoned the **** out... Granted there are more than a few songs that I can get lost in, but none like "Southern Cross". It helps me get back on track, If I'm have a crappy day, this will get me out of my funk...

The original by crosby stills and nash, doesn't do a thing for me...

Marc, can you find a live version of Margaritaville? Would love to see it. I would love to see him in concert!

I love music with a sense of fun.

Orff’s Carmina Burana full volume at 0600, to say thanks and good morning to the drunk powerboaters that were blaring their hip hop the night before. Always brings a smile to my face.

Lyle Lovett, "If I Had A Boat":

"The mystery masked man was smart
He got himself a Tonto
'Cause Tonto did the dirty work for free
But Tonto he was smarter
And one day said kemo sabe
Well, kiss my a$$, I bought a boat
I'm going out to sea "
Oh, so many. Music is vital:
In this beautiful life, there's always some sorrow
And it's a double-edged knife, but there's always tomorrow, oh you know
It's up to you now if you sink or swim
Just keep the faith and your ship will come in
It's not so bad

Or my current fun one (that I'm playing on my uke):

I had a hat when I came in and I hung it on the rack,
And I'll have a hat when I go out or I'll break somebody's back;
I'm a decent man, I am, I am, and I don't want to shout,
But I had a hat when I came in and I'll have a hat when I go out!

Ganggajang - Sounds of Then. 1985. Whenever I hear it I'm transported back to the cane fields...

It would be a tie between "under my thumb" & paint it black" for escape, but "for what it's worth" means more to me than any other song.
Thanks for the reminder.
The best for me has to be "a pirate looks @ 40" though 40 is a long way back there.

My wedding reception was aboard the Diplomat, an old ferry Teddy Roosevelt used to recruit his Rough Riders off of, on 5 hour booze cruise around Manhattan (pre 9/11). As we were shoving off, our first song was Gillian’s Island, the second song was If I Had a Boat. Good times.

Seriously? This is "That one song that will always give you that little pick-me up"?

I play this on guitar and always want to off myself after. Takes playing a Blitzkrieg Bop and a What Do You Want From Life? to put me back on track.

You are a strangely motivated dude.
