You need to think about how you envision your time on the water. One of my prior boats was a CL16 and I found it to be an excellent sailing boat. I belonged to a club with a number of CL16s which made for an interesting racing schedule. Open boats like the CL16 are however boats that are best suited for limited on the water intervals. If you envision long afternoons spent sailing a bit farther away from shore you should look for something larger with at least a cuddy cabin that will hose a porta potty. It sounds like you sail Lake Simcoe which you should also keep in mind is notorious for sudden storms that can be hazardous for small craft. A slightly larger boat with a small auxiliary may get you into port when faced with a weather change.
