1986 is when the Mark II models were released.

A Mark II will have:

1) A stainless compression post instead of wood
2) The galley will be forward, between the v-berth and the settees, instead of the quarterberth
3) A dedicated gas tank locker under an aft cockpit seat ( Port, I think )

4HP moved my C22 quite nicely

Show me a picture and I'll verify it for you.

9.9 hp is about twice as much HP as you need.

I doubt it would cause you problems, as long as it's not too heavy to lift.

If it were me, I'd trade it for a smaller engine and pocket the difference..

And... weight placement is a big deal on a C22.. Makes a big difference in performance.

Just sliding forward in the cockpit a foot has a significant effect on trim and therefore performance.... One of the things that makes the boat interesting to sail....

Keep your weight forward in light air...

Get the boat on a reach, and experiment with your weight placement a bit.

If you're paying attention, she'll let you know when you are doing it right.

I miss my C22...
