Hey all, I have done extensive searching here and on the web. Who has info (other than sailboatdata) on the 69/70 Whitney Carib 41 designed by Gurney? I looked at one today and she's great, but having trouble locating information for my due diligence research.

Just a note of caution here from an old memory - In one of his books, Don Street wrote a snippet about them having core problems. Apparently they were done with some kind of filler foam rather than the foam core process we are now familiar with. It got waterlogged or otherwise degraded.

As I said, it's an old memory so don't let it scare you off but I would have the hull very carefully surveyed for soundness.

I owned one of these from 1998 to 2006 and it is a great boat. We bought her essentially as an abandoned mess from the previous owner and redid just about everything. We had no core issues whatsoever. We used her more as a motorsailer and had a great time with her in the southern Caribbean.
