If anyone has a windscoop like this:
Davis Instruments: Windscoop Ventilating Sail

Would you be so kind and tell me what size and length "dowel" is at the bottom (part that goes inside the cabin).

I've got one that was given to me, have fussed with it and now realize that I'm missing this piece. :laugher

It has to be a couple of inches longer on each end than the width of the hatch you will be using it in. The idea is you hoist the scoop with a halyard until the dowel jams in place. You want to the dowel to be flexible enough so that it bends into place.

I have one but the dowels were missing, I just used 2, 1/2 wood dowels and 4 hooks, I cut the dowels about 8 inches longer than the hatch so there would be about 4 inches on each side (maybe a bit long but it works for me)
