Hi,

I'm building a small (9foot) sailing dingy and I'm looking for a store that sells supplies in Southern Ontario (I live in waterloo area). I need some specialty woods, bronze screws and fittings fittings ect. Can anyone reccomend any stores in the Toronto area?

I also need to buy a g small gaff sail - and have NO idea where to get one.

Much thanks in advance

If you were in the U.S., I'd suggest Jamestown Distributors as a good source for building supplies. Maybe they ship to Canada?

Another source, for supplies and possibly your sail, might be Chesapeake Light Craft. Not certain, but I think they have an Ontario-based partner? They have a little standing lug sail for their Eastport Pram that might work on your dinghy.

I think that you will find that they have what you want. Their prices seem high (compared to Jamestown Distributors for example), but for the small quantity of stuff you need the convenience of Noah's is worth it. You can shop in person or online.

If Noahs' doesn't work out, look in the Yellow Pages under marine supplies, boat lumber, or call a good local lumberyard. They should know who carries that sort of material in your area, if they don't.
