Does anyone have the instructional DVD on building the sled for the swing keel and removal on the trailer that they would want to sell? I am not about to pay $40.00 for a DVD when I know someone has one out there they probly want to get rid of for cheaper. Recycle and re-use right?

I did a little searching and I can't seem to find a good write up on the subject. I am a new C22 owner and I need to do some off season keel and winch repairs before next summer. This is a retoricle question but is it normal to have some play in the Keel laterally? As far as I can tell, catalinadirect.com says no.

It's a three step process. List boat. Sell boat. Buy similar boat without noted problems. If you care about your fellow man, it gets a little more difficult. I once had a boat with a swing keel, and no problems, and I still sold it, just fearing the day when I would have to work on a swing keel.

There have been over 15000 c22's built and probably 14000 have been swing keels. Yes some have lost keels but the vast majority have not. The main reason is lack of maintenance and/or frequent inspection and by frequent I mean every few months or so. Another thing to remember is the 22 was not designed to be an in-the-water-all-year boat. Fear of the unknown is a terrible thing but in fact the keel is not that big a deal. I am about to start rebuilding my second one.
