Anyone have any experience or heard any stories about having a sail made in Southern Mexico or in Central America. I am considering sailing that direction and I will feel better about going there with the sail (and backup) that I have if know that I will be able to replace my mainsail with good quality. Does anyone know of a sailmaker or sailmakers along that coast who have a good reputation?

Renson at Club Nautico in Cartagena recut my 1100 sq ft genoa and did a great job with that and totally new bimini, stackpack and dodger on my 55 ft boat for 35% of US prices. However, you need to take the cloth as it is very expensive in Columbia. Better just to order a sail from National Sails or Lee sails, great quality at 60% the price of the US.
