1970 Mcvay Bluenose

I'm the new owner of a 1970 Bluenose which I acquired last week for free. It has not been in the water in 7 years and will require some TLC but is probably ready to sail as is. I have some questions:

1) Where can I get information on how to rig this boat?

2) There are three drain holes below the water line and I am wondering whether or not I should put plugs in them.

3) Do you think I should put it in the water and take it for a sail before painting it?

4) Where the front jack pads have been sitting I notice some indentation. I have been told these may pop out when I put it in the water. If not, should these be filled with fiberglass?

This is a cottage boat but I still want to be proud of it but not looking for perfection. I appreciate any input.
