Thank you guys for that helpful information. The previous owner fitted the boat with its current ground tackle. There are- amongst others- two salient factors for me. One, staying put. Two, getting the anchor back. I'm not as strong as I use to be and a damn heavy anchor is going to be a struggle-I don't want to put me back out and suffer a hernia getting the anchor back.

Thank you everybody. I really do appreciate advice. Cannot work out how on earth the previous owner got the 25kg anchor up. He's 75 years old, slightly built and is no Terminator.
