How often do you replace the CO2 canister on your inflatable PFD? I have two and both were filled in 07. I triggered one to see if it still works, and it worked fine. Should I replace the other one?

You are supposed to inspect the seal on the cylinder. But for automatic vests you are supposed to replace the dissolving bobbin (that activates in water) every year (or at least every other year) since it is affected by humidity.

I've personally witnessed a inflatable pfd, fail to inflate. It puffed, but barely even broke out of the velcro enclosure. The manufacturers define the re-arming period and this one was exactly at that date. Most don't follow it, myself included. We all really should.
