Perkins 4-108 Alternator Mount

Has anyone mounted a second alternator on the 4-108 Perkins--while keeping the first one? I want a little more charging power and some redundancy and am debating between double pulleys and a second alternator.
Or has anyone mounted a really really big alternator (e.g. 200 amps) on the Perkins with double pulleys, etc?

The only advice I can offer is to see if you can have the second alternator be as close to 180 degrees as possible from the first. That way the side loads from the drive belts will partially cancel each other instead of adding a big extra load to the bearing on the drive pulley.

Our 4-108 came to us with 2 alternators. We''re replacing those with two 150-amp alts. I am not very good with engine stuff but if you email us directly Neil can probably explain how they are mounted.
