Seagull Deterant

I'm just collecting the best and or worse ideas for seagull repellant for boats on a mooring. One of the worse thing is getting ready on taking guests on a day sail and finding your boat looking like a crime scene with fish carcasses, and bird feces. Right now I have the boat covered in aviator netting. It works but a bit of a pain setting up. Looking for a quicker answer. I've seen dead seagull decoys, owls, snakes, and cats. Seeking personal remedies that work.

Over the years I have decided nothing deters the seagulls more than having extra targets. If your boat is only one there, well you are THE target. After that they to like pooping on boats that already have poop.

We don't have a seagull problem, but one thing I see people around here do is tie fishing line from the base of the spreader to the shroud making a tripwire that prevents birds from landing on the spreaders. I have seen all kinds of different whirly-gigs on biminis and dodgers to discourage them as well.

And I have seen plastic owls with bird poop on their heads...
