I''ve been trying to locate Simpson Lawrence in Glasgow, or the Jay Stuart-Haft folks here in Florida, without success. Does anyone have current contact info on either one...or are they gone?

I''ve removed my S-L 9555 Sea Tiger windlass and would like to know if the old grease (3 years of use; 5 years old) should be removed and replaced. If anyone knows of the manufacturer''s recommendation on this, I''d welcome hearing about it. The info that came with my windlass does not address this. Thanks.

S-L went out of business. You can get parts from most decent chandler''s. Yacht Parts, Plymouth (UK) tel +44 1752 252489 have a fair stock.

Bainbridge International seem to have taken over S-L''s main business. Try

info@bainbridgeint.co.uk

As a general rule, I would give an anchor windlass a good service, including a regrease, every year. I learned this lesson the hard way!

All the best
