Is it possible (and/or wise) to use a solar panel charger and an AC converter on the same battery simultaneously or should they be switched?
Just to clarify CD's question; do you mean an AC Battery Charger, or an Inverter? I am confused by your post also...
I believe that you could have an AC battery charger connected at the same time that you have a solar panel charging the battery, but both require charge controllers that won't step on each other's toes.... If it were my boat, I would use either one, but not both, at one time.
If you are asking if you can have a solar panel charging at the same time as you are drawing current from the battery to run an an inverter; the answer is yes.
