Hi all,
We were recently given an 1982 Allmand 31 Tricabin for free...it needs some TLC. And it needs a new prop. The one on there currently is an 8" two blade but I don't know if that's the original.

We are new to sailing and need to get this boat out of its current slip and to the boatyard and hope we'll be able to motor it there and avoid towing fees. But we need the right prop and we don't know the pitch.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

Some of the prop shops might be able to look it up if you tell them your model and motor size. I've seen prop calculators on some of their webpages. I don't know of one being particularly better than another, but here's an example of one of the prop calculators:

Do you have far to go? Maybe a neighbor can tow you with their dinghy for nothing more than a Jerrycan of fuel?

If you don't find someone here that can answer, perhaps there is an active Allmand users group that would have folks with the same boat that could tell youi?

Thanks, we do have a prop shop not too far that might be able to help. It's maybe 7 miles from the slip to the boatyard.
