I have decided to buy a "Ultimate Cranker" complete with drill. Heard nothing but good reviews.

https://www.thecranker.com/

I've been calling for a few days, always goes to voice mail. I've left my number with no response.

Today I sent him an email, and that bounced.

Has anyone had contact, bought one recently? Have any better contact info than in the web site? Or news?

Has anyone bought it off the E-Bay site?

I placed an order for the “ultimate Cranker” on their Ebay page. Will see if it comes through.

If not I’ll go with the one posted above.

I ordered the drill separately, figure I’ll need it either way.

My apologies for not updating this thread.

I ordered it from ebay and it came right in, no problems.

The other day I tried to remove the Cranker and had difficulty. It has a set screw that holds the bit and a left handed allen head inside the Cranker. I forgot about the allen head and tried to take the Cranker off. It would not come. Once I got the allen out it came off.

However it seems there was a hit of metal fouling the threads left over from tapping the set screw hole. This fouled the threads and caused a small bit of damage. It does not seem enough to cause any operational problem whatso ever. But I had the Devil’s own time clearing the threads so the Cranker and the chuck would both thread all the way on.

Bottom line, Ebay worked for me and the the Cranker is just what I wanted.

I think it is meant to make it more secure in reverse, less chance the chuck will back out.
