Transmission woes - Mid Atlantic States

Long story short I have a Volvo MD7A with a reverse gear and the transmission has frozen up. I am seeking a transmission mechanic to look at it for me. I am located outside Philly.

Back story:
The engine has sat for close to 20 years. I acquired it as a parts engine. Last I touched it 3 years ago the engine spun freely by hand in decompression. Now the transmission is locked up. Been stored in an enclosed, weather tight trailer. I got the transmission off and the engine spins freely. I would like some one to look at the transmission for me.

I accept I may have to travel a good bit.

Unless it’s something simple, I’ve had no luck with major transmission repair. They just didn’t last and frequently leaked, when leaking was not the original failure. Is it a ZF/Hurth transmission? Even if badged by Volvo, you can probably bup the transmission directly and avoid the 100+% Volvo markup. I did that once, but the shaft coupler was different. A local machinist quickly made a simple adapter.
