Can someone enlighten me about this boat and its suitability for coastal cruising by sailors of average ability. Any issues with these boats etc. Thanks.

The Schock 35 is an evolution of the Santana 35, with a new bow section, longer waterline and a masthead rig. They rate significantly faster than the old Santana 35, but on deck and in the cockpit are essentially the same boat.

Below decks the new bow allowed a V berth, lacking in the Santana IIRC. Neither has a full-on cruising layout and amenities, but neither are they really stripped out racers.

Probably a decent higher performance coastal cruiser/racer that would do nicely in the summer around here and allow you to be competitive in fleet racing too if you wanted.

You were looking at B 36.7s before, IMO they are a much better boat all around, but the Schock will be a lot less money.
