Oil for Yanmar 3gm30f?

I am in the process of replacing the motoroil on our yanmar 3gm30f.

The manual recommends

1. SAE 15W40
2. API classification CD

Jeg have bought motoroil (Bardahl) with SAE 15W40. On the bottle it say "API/Service SL/CG-4 ACEA A3, B4, E2" and "VW 505.00" and that the oil is suitable for Deutz, Ivesco, Perkins, Yanmar, Lombardini.

Will there be any problems on using this oil even though the API classification aparently is not CD

That will work fine. The "C" classification is for diesel.

I always use a C rated oil for diesels ( C for compression ignition) rather than a S rated oil ( S for spark ignition).

delo400 15 40...what I used in my 2gm

any diesel rated engine oil is fine, some are better than others no need for oil wars

another similiar oil rotella 15 40

its not the oil so much as how often you change and take care of the engine...
